Thirteen Unique Custom Built Homes and 13 Shows in One will be featured at Homearama 2009
Louisville, KY - Homearama 2009 to be held at Canfield Developments Poplar Woods in Goshen and Shakes Run in Eastwood will, once again, be an “all in one shopping” experience for visitors from July 11-26. Sponsored by LG&E an EON Company and Insight with participating sponsors PC Building Materials and Republic bank this year’s Homearama will be a shopping experience like no other. Five homes will be featured in Poplar Woods which is located on Highway 42 in Goshen and 8 homes will be entered in Shakes Run located off Shelbyville Road on Eastwood/Fisherville Road. Homes in Poplar Woods will be priced in the $1 million dollar range with homes in Shakes Run ranging in price from $450,000 - $575,000. Some of the homes are still available for purchase giving the buyer a true showcase home.
What will you see at Homearama 2009? The latest in furniture, window treatments, kitchen cabinets, appliances, fully equipped media and entertainment rooms, lighting fixtures, hardware for kitchens & baths, doors, flooring, unique paint colors, outdoor living equipment and furnishings, in ground pools, saunas & whirlpool tubs. It’s 13 custom built homes and 13 shows all in one! In order to visit homes in both developments the Home Builders Association is offering a dual site ticket for just $14.00. (Single site tickets are sold for $10.00). The dual site ticket allows the visitor to go to one site and then visit the other site either that same day or anytime during the 16 day event. All tickets must be purchased at the gate.
Twelve of the 13 homes in this year’s Homearama are Energy Star Rated and 8 of these homes are also Green Build Kentucky Certified, some of the first with this designation in the Louisville area. Each home is fully equipped with the latest energy efficient products to save you money and also help protect our natural resources. Builders and their associates will be on hand to show you the products and services they have used to make their home energy efficient resulting in a considerable savings on energy bills.
Some unique features of Homearama 2009 will include: 3 sided fireplaces, a gold leaf accented bar, a beautiful courtyard entry, remote controlled screens, a TV that lowers from the ceiling in the master bedroom, a children’s theatre, art studio, exercise rooms (one with a boxing ring), wine rooms, an elevator, a prayer room, a dog washing station, theatre and entertainment rooms, a master suite with a screen porch, and one with a walk in closet w/access to the laundry room. And that’s just the beginning. Custom woodworking, unique moldings ceilings and beams, in-ground pools and a pool house are also featured at Homearama. Produced by the Home Builders Association of Louisville (HBAL), each home featured in this year’s Homearama is built by a builder member of HBAL and decorated by local Interior Designers. There is something for everyone at Homearama 2009 and you won’t want to miss the chance to see all the creative and unique ideas that have become a tradition with this event.
In addition, a playground for children will be available at each site as well as concession areas serving hot dogs, brats, chips and sodas with proceeds benefiting the Metrobon Kiwanis and Wayside Christian Mission
Homearama 2009 will be held July 11-26. Hours are 5pm – 9:30pm Monday-Friday; 10am – 9:30pm Saturdays; 1pm – 6pm Sundays. The ticket booth closes an hour and a half prior to closing time. Tickets are $10.00 for each site or $14.00 for both sites. Children 12 and under are free. The dual site ticket can be used anytime during the 16 day show. Tickets are sold at each site.
